The Half-Pint Readers
were written and illustrated by LuAnn Santillo, a Kindergarten teacher in
the Riverside Beaver County School District in Pennsylvania. She created
these little phonics books for her students to read while they learned the
letter sounds through phonemic awareness instruction. Word quickly spread
about the effectiveness of these leveled, decodable readers. As a result,
thousands of children are now enjoying the
Half-Pint Readers
and becoming confident, motivated readers! The author resides with her husband, Raymond Santillo, a Middle School Principal, and their four children, Megan, Jenna, Michael and Katie. |

| Audrey Smith completed the layout and graphic design production of the Half-Pint Readers. Her talents and expertise turned these little classroom readers into “real books”. She resides with her daughter Mia. | |
| Brenda Schaefer, a former kindergarten teacher and full-time mom, lovingly chose each Bible Verse for the Half-Pint Readers. Now as children learn to read, they can also learn about God and His will for them. Brenda resides with her husband Paul and their four daughters, Sarah, Eden, Becca and Jordan. | |
