At the Beach – Lesson 3

I can read sight words.

Objective: To read sight words. (RF.K.3)

Materials: bin of sand, sea shells, marker

Procedures: Write pairs of sight words on the back of sea shells and place them face down in a bin of sand. You and your child will take turns turning over two shells at a time. Your child will read the sight words. If the words match, they will stay facing up. If not, place them face down in the sand again. The player with the most matches wins the game.

Conclusion: Ask your child to read the word cards again and to write the words in the sand.
