Family Fun – Lesson 3 – Identify Sight Words

Writing in frosting is always fun! Especially when you get to lick your finger!

Family Fun – Lesson 3

I can identify sight words.

Objective: To identify sight words: out, from. (RF.K.3)

Materials: frosting, sight word cards, dish

Procedures: Place a thin layer of frosting on a dish. Tell your child she is going to learn two new sight words. Display the sight word “out” and read it to your child. Have your child trace “out” with her finger. Then she will copy the word by writing it in the frosting, saying each letter and then the word. Repeat several times and then do the same exercise with the word “from.”

Conclusion: Your child will read the words again and then she will write them on lined paper.
