Under the Sea – Lesson 13

I can read and act out a story.

Objective: To read and act out a story. (RF.K.4)

Materials: construction paper, scissors, popsicle sticks, glue, book (The Bad Crab)

Procedures: Have your child create stick puppets by drawing sea animals (crab, fish, octopus, turtle, dolphin, shark) on construction paper. He will glue each animal to a stick. Then he will put on a puppet show for you. If you do not have a small puppet theater, your child can hide behind a couch or table. Or you can create a puppet theater from a box. Your child will take his puppets and the book behind the theater. As he reads each page of the story, The Bad Crab, he will hold up the puppets from that page.

Conclusion: You and your child can create different stories together for more puppet shows.
