Arctic Adventures – Lesson 25

“I can blend sounds to read words.”

Objective: To blend sounds to read words. (RF.K.2)

Materials: wipe-off board, marker, eraser, penguin clipart, popsicle stick, tape

Procedures: Tape a small penguin cut-out to a stick. On a wipe-off board, draw a “cliff.” Write the letters of a cvc word such as “fog” down the side of the cliff. Have your child use the penguin to touch each letter and blend the sounds to read the word. Then repeat with different words.

Conclusion: Have your child write cvc words for you to blend!
