Children love to play “What’s Missing?” games. This activity is a fun way to use their memory skills and practice sight words at the same time.
Arctic Adventures – Lesson 30
“I can read sight words.”
Objective: To identify sight words. (RF.K.3)
Materials: sight word cards
Procedures: Place six sight word cards on the table face. Ask your child to read the words. Then have your child close her eyes or turn around while you remove a card. She will look at the cards again and tell you which sight word is missing. Return the missing card and play again.
Conclusion: Your child will read the sight words again. Reverse roles and she will remove a card for you to tell what’s missing.
