This lesson is a review of our four new letter-sounds. It’s important to make sure your child has mastered these consonants before moving on. In just seven more lessons, she will be reading her first Arctic Adventures book!
Arctic Adventures – Lesson 7
“I can sort pictures that begin with d, g, n and r.”
Objective: To review letters (d, g, r, n) and to sort pictures by their beginning sound. (RF.K.1, RF.K.3)
Materials: four small baskets, letter cards (d, g, r, n), picture cards (d, g, r, n)
Procedures: Tape a letter card to each of the baskets. Place a stack of picture cards on the table. Your child will choose a card, name the picture and place it in the basket that corresponds to the beginning sound.
Conclusion: After all the cards have been placed, your child will name each letter and identify the pictures in each basket to check her work.
