It’s memory game time again to practice the new and previously learned sight words! You will need two cards for each sight word. I usually only put out twelve cards at a time and switch them out. But you can try to use more cards if you want to make it more challenging. So far you child has learned: I, see, a, on, the, is, am, can, not, go, to! Way to go, little awesome reader!

AW lesson 2

Around the World – Lesson 2

“I can play a memory game to read sight words.”

Objective: To read sight words and improve memory skills. (RF.K.3)

Materials: 2 sets of sight word cards (go, to, the, see, am, can)

Procedures: Shuffle the sight word cards and place them face down on the table. Your child and you will take turns turning over two cards at a time. Your child will read the sight words. If they match, the cards are left facing up. If the cards do not match, they are turned face down again. Continue until all of the cards have been correctly matched.

Conclusion: Have your child read the sight words.
