Here is a noisy lesson to review the five short vowel sounds! What a good use of bubble wrap! I used the bigger bubble wrap because it was easier to write on.
Digging Up Dinosaurs – Lesson 18
“I can identify vowel sounds.”
Objective: To identify the vowel sound in a cvc word. (RF.K.3)
Materials: large bubble wrap, sharpie
Procedures: Using a sharpie marker, write vowels on the bubbles of a sheet of bubble wrap. Say a word such as “red” and your child will “pop” a bubble that has a letter e on it. Continue playing until all the bubbles have been popped except for five bubbles (a, e, i, o, u)
Conclusion: For the last five un-popped bubbles, your child will think of a word for each vowel and you will pop the correct bubble.
