“I can read Fin and Nip!”

Objective: To fluently read the story, Fin and Nip! (RF.K.4)

Materials: Fin and Nip (Set 6, Book 2)

Procedures: Discuss the cover of this book. Ask questions such as: What is the setting of this story? Does this story look like it is fiction or non-fiction? Why? Who are the main characters? What do you think their names might be? Who would be Fin and who would be Nip? Why? Turn to the inside front cover to read and discuss the vocabulary words. Then have your child read the book.As your child reads, take time to discuss the illustrations, characters and plot. Have your child respond to the story by making comparisons and predictions.
