To go along with the story of Fin and Nip and their ball game, here is a ball tossing activity to practice sight words!
Digging Up Dinosaurs – Lesson 22
“I can read sight words! (put, big, said, you, did, yes, get, little)”
Objective: To identify sight words. (RF.K.3)
Materials: Large sheet of paper, colored marker, tape, ball
Procedures: Tape a large sheet of plain wrapping paper to the wall. Write sight words randomly on the paper. Say a sight word to your child. She must find the sight word and toss the ball at it.
Conclusion: After all the sight words have been hit, she will read each one to you again. Then go outside and play ball together! Talk about good sportsmanship, too.
