Digging Up Dinosaurs – Lesson 23
“I can read the story, Zip.”
Objective: To fluently read and comprehend the story, Zip. (RF.K.4)
Materials: Zip (Set 6, Book 3)
Procedures: Discuss the cover of this book. Ask questions such as: What is the setting of this story? Does this story look like it is fiction or non-fiction? Why? Who is the main character? Whose pictures are on the wall? Why would those pictures be there? Turn to the inside front cover to read and discuss the vocabulary words. Then have your child read the book. As your child reads, take time to discuss the illustrations, characters and plot. Have your child respond to the story by making comparisons and predictions.
