Digging Up Dinosaurs – Lesson 7

“I can sort pictures that begin with k, q and w!”

Objective: To review letters k, q and w and to sort pictures by their beginning sound. (RF.K.3)

Materials: letter cards (k, q, w) and picture cards (k, q, w).

Procedures: Place letter cards k, q and w on the table. Ask your child to identify each letter and to trace them with her index finger while saying the sound that each letter makes. Give your child a small basket of picture cards. Have her choose a card one at a time. She will place the pictures beside the correct letters.

Conclusion: When all the cards have been placed in their correct rows, she will name the letters and the pictures in each row from left to right.
