Down on the Farm – Lesson 7

I can identify the /cl/ and /pl/ blends.

Objective: To identify the blends /cl/ and /pl/.

Materials: cl and pl cards, construction paper, clipart, bin, yellow shredded paper or straw

Procedures: Display the cl and pl blends. Talk about the sounds in each blend. Glue cl and pl clipart to corn kernel shapes and hide them in a bin of yellow shredded paper or real straw. Your child will find a picture in the straw and match it to the correct blend.

Conclusion: Have your child spell words such as plug, clip, plum, and clap on lined paper.
