An edible moveable alphabet is always fun for letter recognition, forming real words and nonsense words and for changing one letter at a time to create new words. You and your child could make letter cookies together with alphabet cookie cutters. (I took the easy way and found these ABC cookies at a dollar store.) Other edible ideas include ABC pasta, alphabet soup and alphabet cereal. Best of all, clean-up is easy because edible alphabets end up in little tummies!
