Dry-erase boards are my second most favorite writing tool. I bought this cute one for a dollar at a dollar store. Kids love to use colored dry-erase markers so you may want to buy extras. A big fuzzy ball makes a good eraser. Because wipe-off boards erase so easily, they are perfect for an activity called, “Erase and Replace.” Ask your child to spell the word, bat. Then ask him to change bat to cat by erasing one letter (b) and replacing it with another (c). Continue the activity by asking your child to change cat to cap, cap to cup, and so on. What a great way to combine writing with phonics!
