There’s nothing like waking up to the smell of a fresh pot of coffee down on the farm! Today your child will be tactile writing new sight words in ground coffee beans! It’s fun to find new things to write in!
Down on the Farm – Lesson 13
I can read sight words: where, here.
Objective: To read sight words: where, here (RF.K.3)
Materials: tray, ground coffee beans or instant coffee, sight word cards
Procedures: Place a thin layer of instant coffee on a tray. Tell your child she is going to learn two new sight words. Display the sight word ‘where’ and read it to your child. Have your child trace ‘where’ with her finger. Then she will copy the word by writing it in the coffee, saying each letter and then the word. Repeat several times and then do the same exercise with the word ‘here’.
Conclusion: Have your child read the two new sight words again and write them on a chalk board.
