Forest Fun – Lesson 10

 “I can write letter Aa.”

Objective: To write letter Aa. (L.K.1)

Materials: plate, applesauce

Procedures: Spread a layer of applesauce on a plate. Hold up the letter a card. Your child will use his index finger to form letter a in the applesauce while reciting, “a says /ă/, a says /ă/.” He will “erase” the a and practice forming it several times. Ask him to write capital A, too. Guide your child if necessary to be sure he is forming the letters using the correct strokes.And don’t forget to allow him to lick his finger once in a while!

Conclusion: Ask your child to name letter Aa and the /ă/ sound again. Then enjoy a snack of applesauce!
