Forest Fun – Lesson 12
“I can read words and match them to pictures.”
Objective: To decode cvc words and match them to the pictures. (RF.K.2)
Materials: word cards and picture cards (bat, cat, mat, cab, tab)
Procedures: Create picture cards using clipart and corresponding word cards. Place the five picture cards on the table. Give your child a word card to decode, such as “mat”. Your child will sound out the word and match it to the picture of a mat. Continue until all words have been read and matched to the pictures.
Conclusion: Collect the picture cards and have your child read the five word cards again.
