Forest Fun – Lesson 24
“I can sort pictures that begin with p, f, s and h.”
Objective: To review letters (p, f, s, h) and to sort pictures by their beginning sound. (RF.K.1, RF.K.3)
Materials: four apple trees, four small baskets, apple picture cards (p, f, s, h)
Procedures: Have your child help you make trees using green construction paper and bathroom tissue rolls. Label each tree with a letter. Place a basket in front of each tree. Give your child a container of “apples” with pictures. He will choose a card, name the picture and place it in the basket that corresponds to the beginning sound.
Conclusion: After all of the baskets have been filled, your child will name the letter on each tree and the pictures in each basket.
