Forest Fun – Lesson 27

“I can segment and spell cvc words.”

Objective: To segment words and spell them with letter tiles. (RF.K.2)

Materials: letter tiles (t, b, c, m, a, p, f, s, h), picture cards, notecard with three lines

Procedures: Give your child a picture card. Ask her to say the picture and to listen for the beginning, middle and ending sound. Then ask her to spell each picture by placing the letter tiles on the three lines on the notecard.

Conclusion: Reverse roles. You are the student and your child gets to be the teacher observing you as you spell each word.
