Now it’s time for your child to learn to read some new sight sight words, which will be introduced in the next book! Writing the sight words will help your child to memorize them. I found this cute wipe-off board at a dollar store!
Forest Fun – Lesson 32
“I can read sight words. (on, the, is)”
Objective: To identify sight words, on, the, is. (RF.K.3)
Materials: Sight word cards, wipe-off boards, marker, eraser
Procedures: Tell your child he is going to learn three more sight words. These are words that are to be memorized by how they look. Hold up the sight word card, “on” and read it to your child. Your child will copy the word on his wipe-off board while repeating the word. Follow the same procedure for the other two sight words.
Conclusion: Your child will read all three sight words on the sight word cards.
