Forest Fun – Lesson 36
“I can blend sounds to read words.”
Objective: To decode cvc words. (RF.K.2)
Materials: construction paper, marker, music
Procedures: Write cvc words on sheets of colorful construction paper and fringe the edges like mats. Place the mats in a circle on the floor. When the music starts, your child will walk around the circle of mats. When the music stops, he will put his toes by the closest mat and read the word. Start the music again, and the fun continues.
Conclusion: Have your child read each word as the mats are collected. Then have fun dancing with your child!
