Children like to get up and move around while learning. Here is a fun activity to review sight words. (This is not where I would normally hide the mouse cards. I was trying to find a spot in my home to hide several mice in a small area to include in one photo! You will want to hide them all around the room!) The nine sight words your child has learned so far are: I, see, a, on, the, is, am, can, not

Lesson 49

Forest Fun – Lesson 49

“I can read sight words.”

Objective: To read sight words: I, see, a, is, on, the, am, can, not (RF.K.3)

Materials: mouse cut-outs, marker

Procedures: Draw or print out clipart of mice. Cut them out and write a sight word on each. Hide the mice around the room or in the backyard. Your child will pretend to be the cat and find all the mice. After all nine have been found, he will read the sight words.

Conclusion: Your child can hide the mice for you to find and then you can read the sight words together.
