Forest Fun – Lesson 50 – Spelling CVC Words

Using letter beads and pipe cleaners is more fun than pencil and paper for spelling cvc words. I borrowed these beads from my daughter’s kindergarten classroom. We don’t where they are sold but I think they are awesome! You can make your own letter beads by writing on wooden or plastic beads. (See the November 3, 2014 blog for ideas.)

Forest Fun – Lesson 50

“I can spell cvc words.”

Objective: To spell cvc words. (RF.K.2)

Materials: letter beads, pipe cleaners, picture cards of cvc words

Procedures: Your child will choose a picture card such as “mop”. She will spell the word by placing letter beads on a pipe cleaner. She will continue with the next picture until all the words have been spelled.

Conclusion: Have your child read the words she has spelled.
