Jumping Jungle – Lesson 28
“I can read sight words.”
Objective: To fluently read sight words. (RF.K.3)
Materials: bin, shredded paper, sharpie, plastic bugs, paper
Procedures: Purchase a few bags of plastic bugs at the dollar store. Use a sharpie to write a sight word on each bug. Also write sight words on a sheet of paper. Hide the bugs with shredded paper in a bin. Your child will find a bug, read the sight word and match it to the word on the paper.
Conclusion: When all the bugs have been found, your child will read each sight word and use it in a sentence. Then enjoy a snack of “dirt”. (Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumbs over a chocolate pudding cup and add a gummy worm!)
