Encoding words is as important as decoding words when learning to read. For this lesson, have your child use a moveable alphabet to spell the cvc words.
Jumping Jungle – Lesson 10
“I can spell cvc words.”
Objective: To segment words and spell them with letter tiles. (RF.K2)
Materials: letter tiles, picture cards.
Procedures: Place several cvc picture cards on the table. Give your child a basket of letter tiles and ask her to spell out the words.
Conclusion: Remove the pictures and have your child read the words.
