Jungle Safari – Lesson 4
“I can find words to read on a jungle safari.”
Objective: To decode cvc words. (RF.K.2)
Materials: tissue rolls, paint, stickers, string, stapler, stuffed animals, word cards
Procedures: Your child can create a pair of binoculars by painting two bathroom tissue rolls. When dry, staple together, add stickers and a string. Place stuffed animals around the room with word cards. Your child will use his binoculars to spot the animals and read the words.
Conclusion: Your child will gather the word cards and read them again.
You could use this activity for other skills such as nonsense words, sight words or letters and sounds.
