You child will love to create funny “aliens” for this sight word guessing game!
Outer Space – Lesson 15
“I can read sight words.”
Objective: To read sight words. (RF.K.3)
Materials: styrofoam cups, pipe cleaners, packing peanuts, dot stickers, marker
Procedures: Have your child create aliens with the materials. Write a sight word on each cup. Place the cups in a row. Hide a pebble under one of the cups. Say the chant and your child will guess where the pebble is hiding by saying a sight word. Continue until the alien is found and play again.
Chant:
Alien, alien, way up high,
What is the sight word in the sky!
Conclusion: Have your child read the sight words again and write them on lined paper. Then let your child hide the pebble for you to guess.
