There are so many things to remember when writing a sentence such as; beginning the sentence with a capital letter, leaving spaces between words, placing punctuation at the end, etc. For this lesson, your child can be an inspector to find and correct all the mistakes.
Outer Space Lesson 21
“I can find mistakes in sentences and fix them.”
Objective: To identify mistakes in a sentence. (L.K.2)
Materials: wipe-of board, markers, eraser
Procedures: Write a sentence on a wipe-off board. Make one mistake such as forgetting to end the sentence with a period. Show the sentence to your child. Ask her to read the sentence, find the mistake and to correct it with the red marker. Erase the sentence and write a new sentence with a different mistake.
Mistakes to include are:
- Forgetting punctuation.
- Forgetting to leave spaces between words.
- Not beginning the sentence with a capital letter.
Conclusion: Your child will write sentences with mistakes for you to correct.
