Here is another “fixing” lesson to go along with our little robot story. Just like Buzz, your child can “fix” the sentences by putting the words in order.
Outer Space – Lesson 22
“I can unscramble sentences.”
Objective: To put words in order to make sentences. (RF.K.4)
Materials: strips of colored paper, marker, scissors, envelopes
Procedures: Create sentences on strips of paper. Cut each sentence apart and place the words in an envelope. Tell your child that Buzz has another job to do and how she can help. Your child will choose an envelope and unscramble the sentence. Remind him that the capital letter goes at the beginning of the sentence and the punctuation goes at the end.
Conclusion: After all the sentences have been unscrambled, your child will read and write each sentence.
