To practice the new sight words for this set of books, a memory game is always a fun activity!

Pioneer Days – Lesson 3
I can play a memory game to read sight words.
Objective: To read sight words and improve memory skills. (RF.K.3)
Materials: boot cutouts, marker
Procedures: Cut out cowboy boot shapes and write a sight word on each one. (too, that, us, with, your, be) Shuffle the sight word cards and place them face down on the table. Your child and you will take turns turning over two cards at a time. Your child will read the sight words. If they match, the cards are left facing up. If the cards do not match, they are turned face down again. Continue until all of the cards have been correctly matched.
Conclusion: Have your child read the words again and write them on lined paper.
