Objective: To fluently read cvc words and sight words. (RF.K.2, RF.K.3)
Materials: empty egg carton, small labels, permanent marker, button
Procedures: Write sight words and decodable words on small labels and attach them to each section of the inside of an egg carton. Place a button or candy egg inside the egg carton and close the lid. Your child will shake the egg carton and open the lid to see where the button landed. He will read the word to you. Continue the activity until all the words have been read.
Conclusion: Have your child choose five of the words from inside the egg carton to write on a chalkboard.
