This sight word activity will get your child up and moving. And it goes along nicely with our new story, The Tracks.

Wild West – Lesson 13
I can read sight words.
Objective: To read sight words. (RF.K.3)
Materials: brown construction paper, marker, scissors, small treat or toy
Procedures: Help your child trace his foot to make foot print shapes. Cut them out and write a sight word on each foot print. Place the footprints in a trail leading to a special treat or prize. Your child will follow the trail and read each sight word as he goes along. At the end of the trail, he will find a surprise waiting. This game could be played outdoors, weather permitting.
Conclusion: Gather the footprints and have your child read each word again. Then he will write five sight words on a chalkboard.
